  • COVID-19 Travel Impacts

    Updated November 6, 2020:

As a result of COVID-19, at this time only two domestic airlines are able to offer pet air travel within the contiguous U.S. Flight options remain limited as airlines work on resuming services as usual. As an alternative to air travel we are able to offer our By Ground Safe and Sound Service within the contiguous U.S. Pricing is based on distance/mileage and is ideal for large breeds, restricted breeds, multiple pet families or pets traveling to/from rural areas.

If you are still interested in air travel, pet air travel is limited to specific routes and aircrafts and therefore there are not many options at this time. Breed and size restrictions also apply.

Air travel becomes more difficult as for pets to fly temperatures must be below 80° and above 45° Fahrenheit, unless a letter of acclimation is provided for temperatures between 20° – 45° Fahrenheit, for all cities on their itinerary.  If the temperatures reach below 20° or above 80° Fahrenheit, your pet’s reservation may be canceled.

Please note that many flights are still being canceled the day of travel due to low demand. Therefore, air options are extremely limited and cannot be not guaranteed.  If air is an option for your pets, they may require additional transportation to get to and from airports which can accommodate pet travel.

We at Happy Tails Travel, Inc. are closely following the Coronavirus updates across the country and around the world to be sure that your pets and their travel plans are taken care of appropriately.

If you are not yet a client and need assistance with your pets' travel plans, please fill out our Pet Travel Form for more information.

We appreciate our loyal clients, employees, and all of our furry friends.  We wish for everyone to be safe and healthy!

Popeye

Popeye is really enjoying himself. He just looks very happy and comfortable being an island dog. The first day he was here we went to the beach and if he could talk I would bet he way saying “THIS PLACE IS SO COOL! THANK YOU FOR BRINGING ME HERE!!!” You helped make his trip very stress free and easy. I really appreciated the constant updates, immediately responses and hard work on your end. I felt confident the trip was going to be easy from day one having you on the case. Thank you so much for everything. You and your team really do a great job for people and pets that need help.

Joe

Happy Tails did an excellent job transporting my high anxiety dog from California to Oregon as part of our family move.  Every detail was meticulously seen to, and the driver, Mia, went above and beyond to ensure that Little Joe was safe, happy and loved throughout the journey.  She was delayed due to weather, but communicated frequently and sent pictures to set my mind at ease that he was safe and comfortable and well cared for.  I highly recommend this service as a way to get your pet to its new home.

The kitties are happy in their new private room and get lots of lovin’ from all of us, especially our little grandkids. Here is a pic of Smokey Lonesome and one of beautiful Bianca- she’s winking and trying to tell you she had a fabulous trip from KY to NH! Oliver was bring camera shy.  Thank you so much for the great service you provided. It was a huge relief to have the cats taken care of so well. We certainly will use your services again if needed, and of course will recommend Happy Tails!

Happy Tails Travel was such a huge peace of mind for me during this pretty stressful move. Kaya arrived in Glasgow with no problems, and was so happy to be reunited with us. They answered dozens of questions to ease my anxious mind and made this process so much easier on me.I can't thank you enough!

We are settling in nicely, and Kaya LOVES her new home and exploring all the beautiful scenery every day!

Circe

Circe is settling in well in our new home thanks to Happy Tails Travel, Inc. They handled everything and guided me every step of the way. It was a very seamless and stress-free process. I was especially concerned because she's 19-years-old and was traveling from Chicago to Seattle, but Happy Tails got her to me safely.

Thank you so much Happy Tails Travel & Kim!

My family and I were moving to LA and so we needed to fly our labradoodle, Emma. We were moving from Miami and with all the temperature restrictions for flying pets in hot temperatures, we knew that it would be tricky. The folks at Happy Tails were great! They booked Emma on a flight and kept us updated on the temperatures. At the last minute, the temperature soared past 85 degrees and the airport folks wouldn't let Emma on the flight. There were no other flights out in the next 24 hours and my family and I were scheduled on our own flights early the next morning. We were freaking out! Kim, at Happy Trails organized for Emma to be picked up in Miami and driven to Orlando, where she found a flight leaving very early in the morning for LA. She saved us a ton of aggravation! And now Emma is a California dog;) Thanks, Happy Tails!

Our return was a breeze and we settled back into our home life quickly. Pamela was a huge help and made our departure and return so pleasant - thank you again for recommending her to us! The whole process with Happy Tails Travel was so easy on my end and made our travels stress-free. Both times I picked up Moose from the flights he was safe and sound with his tail wagging. I can’t tell you how thankful I am that he was safe and happy throughout our travels. It means the world.

Thank you so much for everything you did to help us, we are so appreciative. We will not hesitate to use you guys again for any future travels!

Happy Tails Travel Driving Team

Happy Tails Travel is proud to offer our By Ground Safe and Sound Service, locating pets by ground throughout the contiguous United States. We would not be able to offer this service if it were not for our amazing driving team!

While all drivers are independent contractors, we only work from a select list of drivers who have signed an agreement with us and are trained to uphold our company standards.  Before being brought onto our driving team, each driver must sign a driver handbook, complete a ride along with a senior driver, and meet the business owner in person. Each driver is current on insurance, has a clean driving record, and has undergone a background check. And of course, they are each huge animal lovers!

Meet some members of our driving team below!  The driver for your specific transport will depend on the type of pets you have, where your pets are going to and from, and which driver we have nearby at the time of transport.

Hello my name is Dana Ingebritsen. I am a mom to my awesome 16 year old daughter and my 2 adorable cats. My aging mom is with us now as well. We all love animals and I am so happy to have Pet Transportation as my career. I spent almost 20 years owning and operating a large child care facility, which I also loved, but it was time to slow down. Animals have always been a passion of mine and I hope I have the opportunity to help as many family pets get to where they need go safely and that they enjoy the trip along the way!

I have raised and handled animals my whole life. I try to make every transport as enjoyable for your pet as I can. I text lots of pictures and videos of our shenanigans for your enjoyment. I do have a sense of humor and will try to make you laugh and feel confident that we are having a safe and fun time. I go out of our way to stop at Petco’s or Petsmart to let the dogs pick out treats and have some fun. My van is almost a driving salon; I like to groom the animals and make them beautiful before I drop them off. I will spoil your pets if allowed and try to make it more of a vacation then anything else. I love animals and transporting them and most animals love me.

I was born in Australia, grew up in Florida and currently reside in Sedona, Arizona. When I am not transporting pets, you can usually find me in National or State parks, taking photos and enjoying hiking.

I am motivated by my love for animals, hiking and photography and want to travel the country and help with pet relocation! I have been relocating pets with Happy Tails Travel for since 2018. My favorite parts of the job are being able to go on hikes in national and state parks with dogs and reuniting pets with their owners.  Dogs especially get super excited when they see their human family and  realize that I helped them get to their new home or vacation (holiday) home.

I grew up around pets and animals of all sizes and the passion to care for them has continued throughout my life. I have volunteered at numerous animal shelters and nature conservations, within the U.S. and abroad, caring for exotic & domestic breeds.

Driving for Happy Tails Travel combines my passion for driving and caring for your pets while safely getting them to you in your new home.  I am patient & skilled at caring for your pets that need medical attention, large breeds, pets that are high energy and those that have acute travel anxiety.

Prior to the actual day of pickup, I prefer to do a meet & greet to help reduce everyone’s anxiety (whenever possible). This face to face allows me to walk or play with your pets and to talk more in-depth about your precious family members.

I can’t wait to meet you & your family!!!

Greetings! My name is Ruben Ramirez.

It is truly an honor to have the opportunity of being entrusted with the care of your loving companion! I consider the transport of your pet an awesome responsibility, therefore, I feel it is important to tell you a little bit about myself and how I became a pet transporter.

I was born in a small mining town in Texas called Newgulf, which is where my parents were born. We moved to Houston when I was 4 years old and that became my hometown. I entered the restaurant and hospitality industry in 1980 and stayed there until 2016. After 36 years as a restaurant manager, I decided to retire. Knowing I would need something to do in my retirement to keep me busy (and to keep from annoying my wife), I started ridesharing with the two leading ridesharing companies. I was browsing through a Facebook page one evening when I ran across a company looking for a driver willing to drive some pets to their new home. I answered the call and from then on, I was hooked. Although the restaurant business, and its many obstacles, was very challenging, I find driving pets to be much more fulfilling.

I can honestly say that I’ve slept in every state in the continental United States. I’ve carried every size pet from kittens and Chihuahuas to Saint Bernards and Great Danes. My friends and family love to hear my stories about my travels. My favorite part of America is the Midwest. The roads are wide open, and the skies are always blue. I also like to brag that I have traveled from border to border all in the same week (Mexican border to the Canadian border).

I plan to continue driving pets as long as it is safe for me to do so. When my wife retires (in a few years), she says she would like to accompany me on trips sometimes. I’m looking forward to that.
