"Happy Tails Travel provided an experience positively above and beyond my expectations! I had never heard of a pet transport service before, and coming from a small town in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, I was unsure if I could even utilize the company because of my location. Not many companies come that way... for anything. But Happy Tails even came to our home in rural PA!
Our driver Marko was AMAZING; super nice and efficient! I greatly appreciated the many photos and videos and updates and was thankful that he answered my texts asking how things were going. He is wonderful with animals, and I highly recommend him, such a great guy!"

In general, this is not the least expensive as it has many moving parts:
For in-cabin travel, the cat or dog needs to be under 20 pounds and fit comfortably in the crate that fits is under the seat in front of our Pet Nanny. Since a Golden Retriever would be without his/her service person, it would need to travel as manifested live animal cargo. A service animal must travel with their registered human in order to fly in-cabin and must be arranged directly with the airline of choice.
Flight Nanny is ideal for small pets, usually about 20 lbs. or less, and there are no breed restrictions. One benefit, especially, is for snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds which airlines often embargo in cargo. Ultimately, eligibility depends on the airline’s in-cabin policy, your pet’s health, and crate dimensions, but our specialists will assess your pet’s individual case and advise whether the Flight Nanny option is viable.
During layovers or any unexpected delays, the Flight Nanny remains with your pet, providing continuous supervision. They attend to your pet’s basic needs (water, bathroom breaks, comfort) in airport pet relief areas or secure zones. If an airport imposes restrictions (e.g. no pet relief zones), we build contingency plans ahead of time. The Flight Nanny carries extra supplies and handles all transitions, so your pet is never alone.
Our priority is always your pet’s safety and comfort. We carefully select airlines known for their pet-friendly policies and reliable service. Whenever possible, we book nonstop or the most direct routes to reduce travel time and stress. If a layover is unavoidable, we choose airports with designated pet relief areas and a strong track record for handling animals safely. Each itinerary is customized based on your pet’s needs, airline policies, and flight schedules to ensure the smoothest journey possible.
Yes. Pets must remain fully inside their carrier under the seat for the entire flight.
Yes — TSA often requires pets to be taken out of their carrier during screening. This is in order for them to examine the crate for anything that may be hidden or prohibited from air travel. For cats, this can occur in a private screening room, which can be requested if needed.
Yes, client must provide these items (or approve our nanny to purchase for them). Some flight nannies bring extra supplies like potty pads, blankets, wipes, treats.
Yes, one Flight Nanny can take 2 cats, however, it is likely they will still need to purchase an extra seat.
Your cat is welcome to stay anywhere that works best for your family, such as a neighbor, at a friend’s home, or at a boarding facility. We can pick your pet up wherever they are and whenever is most convenient!
